Mayor Nick Valentine, City officials, and Daniel O'Brien, Vice-President Membership Services & Development for the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, celebrated the grand opening of Broadway Farm, 151 Broadway, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, Nov.10, 2005.
According to manager Mitchell Kim, the store will carry produce, fresh fish, and will be a center for gourmet, organic, and West Indian foods. Store hours are 8 am–8 pm.
A former employee of international food distributor George Weston Foods, Kim is enthusiastic about the store's location and the City in general.
Insik Park, the owner, commented, "The location is convenient for everyone, especially those without a car. We are looking forward to meeting our neighbors and being a part of the community."
"When I came here, I could see that Newburgh is ready to change, and I can see it changing now," said Kim. The City has made them welcome, he said. "I never saw a city with more cooperation than Newburgh."
"I am very pleased to see a new business not only come to Newburgh, but to the Broadway corridor," said Mayor Nick Valentine.
Councilman George L. Bowles, Jr. added, "Our goal is to have every vacant building on Broadway occupied by business." |
