The Land Use & Environment stakeholders focus group addresses the following issues:
- Existing land use – zoning, etc.
- Development patterns for City
- Integration of other plans: waterfront, St. Luke’s, Stewart Airport, adjoining communities, regional, colleges, NYS agencies, etc.
- Adjoining communities’ & regional land use & development patterns
- Assessing of current land use system & needed changes
- Natural resources – utilization & conservation policies
- Environment – clean & safe
- Watershed
- Open space
- “Green City”
- Brownfields/Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) grant
- Urban ecosystems – shorelines, slopes, viewsheds
- Energy
- Relationship with adjoining communities’ natural environment
