Public/Private Housing Partnership – Round II Re-Issued

Based on the success of the first program,the City issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) in December 2007 to redevelop another 21 City-owned properties. A revised RFQ is being re-issued for 10 of those properties: RFQ-rev 2 March 2008 (pdf, 772K). An open house is set for April 25; proposals are due May 23.

Other Programs

Waterfront Development
The largest economic development project under way in the City is the redevelopment of more than 30 acres near the waterfront by Leyland Associates of Tuxedo, New York.

Facade Improvement Program
Assistance is available for improving facades on lower Broadway and Liberty Street. (The deadline for 2007 grants has passed.)

Main Street New York Grant Program
Financial assistance is available for projects involving the development of capital facility or infrastructure to help retain jobs and business activity in downtown Newburgh.

West Street Medical/Technical Park
The City is supporting the development of an advanced telecommunications network and construction of an $8million facility to house it on West Street.
