The most recent addition to area music is the Opera Company of the Highlands. Led by Claudia Cummings, the OCH launched with "Die Fledermaus" in October 2005.

In nearby Beacon, the Howland Cultural Center presents chamber-music concerts every year.

Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra

Perhaps surprising for a city of 28,000 people, Newburgh is fortunate to have the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra, which is now its 11th year. Conducted by Dr. Woomyung Choe, the symphony presents several concerts each year.

Queens Day Concert 2003  

Newburgh Chamber Music offers several concerts each year in various historic or otherwise notable space. Founded by the late Phil West, NCM is chaired by violinist and SUNY New Paltz music professor Carol Cowan.

 
Steve Forbert at Morrison Mansion For popular music, attend an intimate concert at Morrison Hall at SUNY Orange in Middletown. Or take in a concert at The Chance, a legendary club/theatre in Poughkeepsie.
